A Whole Food Whole Life Cookbook
Food that Grows
Food That Grows bridges the gap from the farm to your table with simple, easy recipes to add health to your family and your life.
Sarah Marshall partnered with naturopathic colleague Tanda Cook to produce a cookbook in support of the whole food way of life. A shared love for cooking and a foodie grade palate resulted in a gluten and dairy free collaboration that adheres to the principles of sustainability, simplicity and Whole Foods eating.
The project started with a booth at a local farmers market in Bozeman, MT. The authors connected with local farmers and dedicated every weekend to educating the people about the merits of this lifestyle by providing free recipes and samples of the food. By popular demand, they continued this food education with a dinner club through the fall, winter, and spring.
The book includes over 100 whole food, gluten free, dairy free recipes developed over 7 years. Also included is an overview of recommendations of how to eat a healthy diet, the Whole Foods Pyramid, nutrition information on the main ingredients, personal stories of what inspired each recipe was, and lots of cooking and kitchen tips to make feeding your family healthy food as easy as possible. There is a section on creative ways to feed hungry kiddos, how to stock a pantry and grocery shop for whole foods, recommended reading list and favorite product resources for living gluten and dairy free.
This cookbook is not just about showing you how to cook great food, but really teaching you how to eat, how to add heath through the food choices you make, everyday for the rest of your life.
