Healing Spiritual Illnesses with indigenous mayan shamanism with Dr. Jennifer Karon, ND

I reconnect with a dear colleague from Naturopathic Medical School, Dr. Jennifer Karon, to discuss our shared passion for spiritual healing and indigenous Mayan traditions. Turns out, we both have been studying the connections between our energetic spiritual selves and chronic illness, and discovering the limitations of trying to heal people from physical medical approaches alone.

Meet Dr. Jennifer Karon

Dr. Jennifer Karon is a licensed naturopathic physician in Portland, OR.  She sees patients of all ages and backgrounds to help them treat the root cause of their health issues.  Dr. Karon has found that while functional lab testing, natural remedies, dietary changes, and exercise can heal a lot, there are many things that do not resolve with this approach.  Frustration with the limits of naturopathic and functional medicine led her to look beyond the physical to the lineage of Mayan shaman Don Elijio Panti and his spiritual healing work, which she has studied for 12 years in Belize with Dr. Rosita Arvigo.  In this lineage, spiritual illness is treated with ceremony, including water, plants, prayers, and copal incense.  The ceremony releases spiritual illness trapped in a soul's auric field, releasing what is not serving the individual and calling back pieces of the soul that may have gone missing.  Now teaching this work through The Abdominal Therapy Collective, Dr. Karon believes passionately that spirit healing work is essential to reclaiming and maintaining health.
